Liberia ( March 2, 2023): The alleged murder of former Chief Justice Cllr Gloria Scott daughter Charloe Musu has been greeted with mixed reactions. Even police have made no arrest, they have threatened Court action against Cllr. Scott and other occupants of the house if they refuse to turn themselves in for questioning.
In a latest statement, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is demanding the conduct of an Autopsy on the remains of the Late Charloe Musu by the Liberian Government.
On February 22, 2023, the Late Charloe Musu was reportedly murdered by unknown individual (s) who attacked the residence of former Liberian Chief Justice, Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott, and injured another occupant (s).
CDC National Chairman, Mulbah K. Morlu believes the conduct of an autopsy will aid police investigation process and erase what he termed as the myth (s) surrounding Charloe’s death.
Although Morlu alleged that Cllr. Scott has refused to cooperate with the Police in the ongoing investigation, the Deputy Inspector General of the Liberia National Police for Crime Services, Prince Mulbah, disclosed on Thursday (March 2, 2023)that Cllr. Scott has agreed to cooperate with the police amidst report of her refusal in the investigation.
According Col. Mulbah, Cllr. Scott is currently undergoing questioning to provide information in regards to the investigation involving the killing of the late Charloe Musu at her residence.
Meanwhile the CDC party, through its Chairman Morlu, has vowed to find the biological mother of the late Charloe Musu while the investigation goes, though he did not mention the importance of finding Charloe’s biological mother.
But, the CDC Chairman said the party will possibly do what it can in finding the biological mother of the Late Charloe Musu who is believed to be the daughter of Liberian former Chief Justice, Cllr. Gloria Musu Scott.
It is reported that Charloe had been a daughter of cllr. Scott at age 3, up to and including her death.
Morlu has at the same time disclosed that the CDC Party will join well-meaning Liberians to demand justice for the late Musu in accordance with law void of any form of discrimination in finding the perpetrator (s).
He further mandated all CDCians to use the late Charloe’s photo on social media as their profiles while revealing that the party will be mourning for seven days in solidarity to her death.
In a related development, the man at the center of the controversy involving the death of Charloe, Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee senior lawyer Cllr. Arthur Johnson has maintained that preparation to file an official lawsuit against human rights lawyer, Cllr. Jerome Verdier is on its way.
Cllr. Jerome Verdier, the Executive Director of a global advocacy group – the International Justice Group recently alleged on Spoon Talk that Monrovia Mayor Jefferson Koijee ordered Varlee Talleh (who is said to be the Deputy of Operations for the Monrovia City Police) to have carried out the attack at Cllr. Scott’s residence.
Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee and Varlee Telleh have since been declared persons of interest by the Liberia National Police for their alleged involvement in the attack on former Chief Justice Cllr. Gloria Musu-Scott’s home that led to her daughter’s murder.
Appearing at the Liberia National Police (LNP) Headquarters on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, both Mayor Jefferson Koijee and Varlee Telleh – escorted by their lawyer, denied all allegations levied against them.
Mayor Koijee and Telleh had since subjected themselves for investigation into the matter while he (Major Koijee) has made 5, 000 United States Dollars in addition of an offer of 5, 000 United States Dollars provided by the Liberia National Police to anyone who may have information to Charloe’s Murderer (s).
