Tonia Watson Champions Education, Rewards Academic Excellence with Scholarships

Monrovia- July 4,2026: Senior Protocol Officer in the Office of Liberia’s Vice President, Miss Tonia Watson, has championed the importance of education by rewarding three scholarships to highly performing students of  the Royal Family Development Institute.  

Among 60 students graduating from the institution, Student Fatumata S. Fofana emerged as Dux of the class and received a full-academic year scholarship from Miss Watson.  Additionally, two students were awarded partial scholarships for their exceptional performance.

Serving as Keynote Speaker, Miss Watson described the occasion as a celebration of achievement, growth, and shared responsibilities in shaping the future of young leaders.

She encouraged the graduates to remain committed to their education while upholding discipline, determination, and respect as they progress in their academic journey.

“You may be small in age, but you have made big achievements,” she said. “You have learned new words, numbers, songs, prayers, and valuable lessons that will guide you throughout life. Continue to ask questions, dream big, respect your parents and teachers, and always strive to do your best.”

Miss Watson reminded the students that education is a lifelong journey that requires   continuous learning with confidence and faith in God. She praised parents and guardians for their sacrifices and unwavering support, describing them as vital partners in every child’s success. “Today is also your celebration. Your love, commitment, and encouragement have played an important role in the success of these children,” she noted.

The Official further commended the administrators, teachers, and staff of the Royal Family Development Institute for their dedication to nurturing young minds and strengthening Liberia’s educational foundation.

The graduation ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates, academic honors, and scholarship awards. The ceremony brought together school administrators, teachers, parents, special guests, and students to celebrate the successful completion of the academic year.
