MOE Sets Fees for Public and Private Schools Graduations Says Violators Risk Punishment.

Monrovia: The Ministry of Education has set an approved Graduation fees for both Public and Private schools ahead of Graduation for 2025 and 2026 Academic Year.
The approved fees comes amid huge increased in graduation fees across the country despite hardship parents are facing due to economic constrains.
According to MOE, 12th graduation fees for Public schools is set at five thousand Liberian Dollars (5000.00LD) while 9th and 6th grades are set at 3,500 each and Kindergarten (K2) 2,500 LD
The Ministry also said private schools graduation fees for 12th grade is set at 100US or its equivalent while 6th and 9th grades are set at 6,000 LD each and Kindergarten (K2) 5,000 LD.
MOE added that Schools are not authorized to impose, demand, or collect graduation related fees beyond the amounts approved by the Ministry.
The Ministry also noted that Graduation fees shall be collected only after the official release of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
“No school is authorized to collect graduation fees before the results are officially announced and Graduation exercises for Grades 9 and 6 are permitted only when these classes represent the terminal level of the institution.
MOE emphasized that the official graduation attire shall be the respective school uniform and Schools that already own graduation gowns may allow their students to use it without any additional fees charged for gowns, rentals, purchases, or related attire.
“Parents and guardians are encouraged to report any school demanding unauthorized graduation fees or imposing requirements inconsistent with Ministry regulations”.
The Ministry encouraged all schools to comply fully with the regulations nothing that it will investigate reported violations and take appropriate administrative action against schools found to be in breach of the directives.
