At Expo 2025, Liberia Urges Partners to Translate Diplomacy into Trade, Jobs, and Development, Deepens Friendship with Japan

Osaka, Japan: Foreign Minister Hon. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, has called on global partner’s diplomacy into trade, jobs development and as well dialogue into tangibles at the Expo 2025 held in Osaka, Japan
Representing President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the Foreign Minister emphasized that while diplomacy opens doors, “it is investment and trade that must walk through it, and jobs and livelihoods that ultimately secure dignity for our people.”
Liberia’s National Day at the Expo 2025 set a stage for deepening friendship and advancing economic diplomacy, while underscoring Liberia’s alignment with the Expo’s theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” she emphasized that the country’s pavilion, built on the mission “Saving Lives,” reflects President Boakai’s “rescue mission.”
Madam Beysolow Nyanti, outlined how creativity, innovation, investment, and gender equality are key to building a stronger future for Liberia. She further highlighted Liberia’s ARREST Agenda Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism as the nation’s development blueprint, calling on Japanese businesses to engage in agribusiness, energy, ICT, and tourism.
“When you invest in Liberia,” she declared, “you are not just tapping into resources you are creating jobs, empowering communities, and shaping a future of shared prosperity.”
Joining the trails of Congratulations was Japan’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fujii Hisayuki. He praised Liberia for its resilience, democratic progress, and contributions to peace.
He recalled Liberia’s historic role as Africa’s first republic and cited the “Japan Freeway” in Monrovia as a lasting symbol of cooperation while expressing confidence that the Expo 2025 would open new doors to strengthen the long-standing bond between the two nations.
A highlight of the celebration came when students of Kaminoshima Elementary School performed Liberia’s National Anthem, a cultural exchange that touched hearts and symbolized the power of people-to-people diplomacy.
The rendition was hailed as advancing the spirit of global partnership and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals through education and cultural dialogue.
The program also featured traditional Liberian performances and art, demonstrating the country’s rich cultural identity while presenting tourism, creativity, and innovation as engines for growth. This cultural showcase reinforced Liberia’s message that its heritage is not only a source of pride but also a driver of opportunity.
The National Day brought together an impressive lineup of dignitaries and partners, including Senate Chair on Defense, Security, Intelligence and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Momo Cyrus, the ECOWAS Ambassador to Liberia, Madam, Josephine Nkrumah, the Minister of Commerce, president of the Liberia Business Association, the chair of the National Investment Commission and the President of NOCAL,
Others included the Chair of Liberia Tourism Authority, the Presidential Special Envoy on Investment, Liberia’s Ambassador to Japan, and the Commissioner General for the Expo, alongside Japanese officials and global partners.
The day concluded with a colorful reception in honor of Liberia’s delegation, offering space for networking, cultural exchange, and dialogue on investment opportunities. The celebration underscored Liberia’s growing role on the global stage and its clear message: the country is open for business, rich in culture, and ready to transform diplomacy into trade, jobs, and sustainable development thinking Liberia, loving Liberia, and building Liberia together.
