Lone Star Mobilization Committee Appeals for Nationwide Support Ahead of National Team Campaign

Monrovia, Liberia – July 30, 2026 – The Co-Chair of the Lone Star National Football Team Mobilization Committee, Madam Cassandra Hampton has called on Liberians at home and abroad to rally behind the country’s national football team through both moral and financial support.
Addressing the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing on Thursday admitted that in the past many Liberians had become discouraged from supporting the national team because of poor results and concerns about transparency but assured the public that the current committee is determined to restore confidence and accountability.
“I’m here today to appeal to everyone in Liberia, the entire Republic, to please give us the support that we need for our national team. We have come to reassure you that some of us being on this committee means a whole lot, and we are here to make a difference,” she stated.
Madam Hampton stressed that the committee cannot succeed without the active participation of the Liberian people, confirming that every contribution, regardless of its size, can help boost the team’s preparations and morale.
Sharing a recent experience, she recounted attending Liberia’s 179th Independence Day celebrations with members of the team, where market women voluntarily contributed small amounts of money in support of the Lone Star.
According to her, the value of those donations was not measured by the amount given but by the patriotism and love the women demonstrated for Liberia and its national football team. “Even if it is five dollars, we need you to kindly rally support around the boys,” she urged.
Madam Hampton further encouraged all Liberians to unite and support the Lone Star team, something she believes the collective support from citizens, businesses, and partners will help motivate players and strengthen the team’s quest for success on the international stage.
The Committee’s Co-Chair expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Liberia Football Association (LFA), the Government of Liberia, and the media for their continued support to the national team.
