Senator Varpilah Breaks Ground for Renovation of Kinjor Health Facility in Kinjor, Gola Konneh District

Kinjor, Grand Cape Mount County: The senator of Grand Cape Mount County Dabah M. Varpilah, has broken grounds for the renovation of Kinjor Health Facility in Grand Cape Mount County. The renovation project which is valued at US$46,929.40 was announced during the lawmaker first official constituency visit to Kinjor Town
Addressing a jubilant crowd, Senator Varpilah expressed deep gratitude to the people of Kinjor for their unwavering support during her election campaign and pledged to prioritize health, education, and electricity in the district. “We will not forget the people of Kinjor and the entire county. Your support fuels our mission to bring real change,” she told residents.
Highlighting the government’s ARREST Agenda, the senator emphasized the importance of health and sanitation in community development. She praised the Grand Cape Mount County Health Team, led by Dr. Daniel Koffa, for its dedication in monitoring facilities across the county, noting that their proposal for improved healthcare guided her decision to invest in Kinjor.
The renovation of the health facility, she said, would “take Kinjor’s healthcare service challenges to a new level where quality basic healthcare for residents will no longer be a burden.” Senator Varpilah also announced plans to establish a Women’s Empowerment Center in Gola Konneh District, encouraging women, youth groups, and local leaders to collaborate in shaping community-driven initiatives.
Community leaders warmly welcomed the senator’s intervention. Paramount Chief Momo Thomas hailed the groundbreaking as a “record-breaking surprise,” noting it was the first time a politician not just a company responding to protests—had initiated such an investment in Kinjor.
Residents also appealed to Senator Varpilah to advocate for electricity access and skills training programs such as heavy-duty driving, stressing that the lack of technical training had left many locals unemployed while outsiders filled available jobs.
In response, the senator reaffirmed her commitment to ongoing engagement with Kinjor and the wider Grand Cape Mount County. “Let us work together for the common good. I will keep returning to Kinjor and to every part of Grand Cape Mount County,” she assured.
