Thousands of CDC Partisans Gather to Break Ground for New Party Headquarters

 Monrovia: Thousands of partisans of the Coalition for Democratic Change flooded the main streets dancing and chanting as they overwhelmingly moved to congo town to break ground for the construction of their party headquarters  

“We are going to break ground to build our headquarters to put our enemies to shame! Our party is our heart” they chanted marking a major milestone for the CDC, symbolizing renewal and resilience after a turbulent year.

The event drew prominent political figures, which included, Grand Gedeh County Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely, Grand Cape Mount County Senator Simeon Taylor, Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah’s, former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Moses Gray among others.

The moment follows a major setback in August 2025, when the Civil Law Court ruled that the CDC did not legally own its previous headquarters a property the party had occupied for more than 12 years before being evicted. Pres. Weah praised the leadership of the CDC for the hard work done in reaching the milestone, describing the project as a fulfillment of promise to the CDC family

Speaking at the event, CDC Political Leader and former President of Liberia.  George M. Weah expressed heartfelt gratitude to partisans for their patience, unity, and loyalty throughout the party’s recent challenges.

“I firstly want to thank the Almighty God for His continued blessings upon me and our partisans, “We have been through a lot, but this new project symbolizes our strength and unity, I promise to ensure this new headquarters is completed to give CDCians a home once again, they break, we build, we lead, they follow” Former president weah said.

Several CDCians who attended the event expressed unwavering love for their party and renewed confidence ahead of the 2029 general elections.

 “Let the Unity Party government know that we are coming back to power in 2029, We will make sure President Joseph Boakai becomes a one-term president, he has done enough to us ” they said

The groundbreaking ceremony was characterized by cash donation and series of pledges. Citizens Movement for Change led by Representative Musa Billity pledged five thousand United States Dollars to the CDC Construction project while former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor donated 5 thousand USD for the CDC party Headquarters followed by solidarity messages from opposition members and political figures, signaling a new chapter for the CDC as it works to rebuild both its physical base and political strength following months of uncertainty.
