United Methodist Women To Launch Empowerment Training for Women Across Twenty-Two Districts of the UMC

Monrovia: The Women of the United Methodist church in Liberia is expected to launch a three-month empowerment Training Program for women across the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist

The Training Program is aimed at strengthening women within the church and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to support their livelihood.

The training which is scheduled for October and December 2025 will be held across the 22 districts, providing a platform for women to share their experiences, learn from each other, and acquire them new knowledge to enable to be more functional and effective in the different districts of the UMC. After the training, participants are expected to return to their districts and local churches to share the knowledge gained,

According to Madam Josephine Snorton, the training will adopt a bottom-to-top approach, allowing women from various districts of the church to identify their own priorities during sessions period for possible consideration. “This approach will ensure that the training is tailored to specific needs of women in each district” the President said.

Madam Snorton also disclosed that the women of the Liberia Annual Conference, United Methodist Church, are expected to attend the upcoming 2026 Women Conference in the United States of America.

“This international participation will provide an opportunity for Liberian women to network with women from around the world, share experiences, and learn from best practices” she noted.

The empowerment training program is a major step toward strengthening women within the church and beyond. By equipping women with the necessary skills and knowledge, CUMWO aims to empower them to take on leadership roles and make a positive impact in their communities.

Conference United Methodist Women is Christian women organization in the United Methodist in Liberia knew for it long standing support to women in the church and the county at large. With the slogan “Not for Ourselves But For Others” the United Methodist Women has worked tirelessly work to support and empower women to have skills that will enable good-paying jobs both in the church and outside. CUMWO also focuses on women’s rights, health care, economic justice, child advocacy, and global issues.
