46-Year-Old Grawfar Tokpah Gets 50-Years Prison Sentence for Raping Minor

Monrovia: Justice has been served in a long standing rape case involving 46-Year-old Defendant Grawfar Tokpah
Tokpah received 50-Years Prison Sentence on Thursday, September 24, 2026 after a jury panel brought down a unanimous guilty
verdict against him for raping a 12-year-old minor (name withheld),
The jury returned the guilty verdict on
September 14, 2026 a
fter hearing closing arguments from both the prosecution and defense.
Prosecutors told the jury that Tokpah allegedly exploited his access to the child, luring her into his room under the pretext of watching movies while her mother was away.
According to the prosecution, the defendant and the victim’s family lived in the same house in the Mamba Point community, giving him repeated access to the minor.
Prosecutors alleged that the sexual abuse occurred several times between 2023 and 2024 inside Tokpah’s room.
Government presented statements allegedly made by Tokpah during a police investigation, in which he reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the minor.
A medical report dated May 7, 2024, from the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital was also introduced as documentary evidence during the trial.
Prosecutors argued that the evidence established a violation of Liberia’s amended Rape Law, particularly Chapter 14.70(b), and urged the jury to return a guilty verdict.
Tokpah was sentenced by Criminal Court “E” Judge Wesseh A Weseh.
Tokpah will now serve his 50-Years Prison Sentence
