Crozierville, Montserrado County: Green Guard ECO Solution has officially launched a groundbreaking project aimed at transforming garbage into energy and recovering carbon for environmental sustainability.

According to the group, the Initiative is a bold step toward addressing Liberia’s longstanding waste management crisis. The launch event, held in Crozierville, was officiated by the Office of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung and brought together government officials, local leaders, and community residents.

The event marked the beginning of what many described as a transformative national initiative. Liberia has struggled with waste disposal for decades, with large amounts of trash ending up in informal dumpsites along major streets in Monrovia, contaminating rivers and other water bodies.

This project seeks to reverse that trend by introducing innovative technologies to convert waste into usable resources such as energy and biofuel. Providing an overview of the project, Hon. Edward W. Karfiah emphasized its significance. “This is not just a project; it’s a global achievement introduced to help develop our country.

We are bringing in innovative designs to tackle one of the most pressing challenges Liberia faces. Through advanced processes, we aim to turn waste into usable materials and transform an environmental liability into societal value,” he said. Monrovia City Mayor JC Siafa also praised the initiative and urged citizens to actively support the project.

“This is the beginning of a solution to a problem we’ve battled for years. With this project, we can truly say ‘waste is wealth.’ Every citizen must be involved this is not the time to sit and watch,” he stated. Residents of Crozierville welcomed the project with enthusiasm, expressing gratitude to Green Guard ECO Solution for selecting their community as a starting point.

“We are happy today. With this project, we expect empowerment, community development, and improved access to electricity,” one resident noted. Green Guard ECO Solution specializes in cutting-edge renewable energy solutions, with a focus on technologies such as methanation, wind energy, biofuel, and hydroscrew systems.

The company aims to reduce environmental impact while offering cost-effective and sustainable energy alternatives to Liberian communities. This initiative represents a major stride in the country’s effort to combat pollution and improve public health while fostering economic growth through clean energy.
