NIGERIAN PARLIAMENT WELCOMES LIBERIAN SPEAKER AND DELEGATION AS DEPUTY SPEAKER REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STRENGTHENING LEGISLATIVE TIES

Monrovia: The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hon. Benjamin Kaluon behalf of the Speaker of the Nigerian Parliament, officially welcomed the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, and his Legislative Delegation for a day-long working visit to the Parliament of Nigeria.

During the visit, the Liberian delegation was taken on a guided tour of the Nigerian Parliament and other historic landmarks of national significance.

The Deputy Speaker of Nigeria congratulated Speaker Koon on his recent election and expressed the willingness of the Nigerian Parliament to collaborate with the Liberian House of Representatives on matters of mutual interest.

Speaker Koon, while addressing Nigerian lawmakers in their chambers, expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and acknowledged the strong historical ties between Liberia and Nigeria, especially Nigeria’s pivotal role during Liberia’s civil crisis.

He emphasized the importance of continued bilateral legislative cooperation to strengthen democracy and regional integration.
