SISTER AID LIBERIA LAUNCHES DOCUMENTARY SERIES REPORT ON WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION

A Civil Society Organization, Sister Aid Liberia in collaboration with Partners on December 10,2024 officially launched a Documentary Series Report on women’s participation and supports.

The Series titled: “Beyond Limits”aims to engaged and prepared women in politics ahead of 2029. It tends to nurture aspiring women who intend to contest for the 2029 pending elections as to acquire a target of female representation into the National Legislature.

Providing overview of the event, acting Executive Director MS. Amelia Siaffa highlighted few achievements made over the past. According to Siaffa, the activity was important to celebrate Women who have made significant progress while urging them to put into practice a leadership that incorporates intergeneration.

“In other to reach out 30 percent we need to do more mobilization, networking and not forgetting intergenerational leadership this has help me a lot as a person since my boss traveled. She mentored me through this far here I am, I’m sure she’s very proud of her products “She added.

In remarks Cllr. Charlyne M. Brumskine encouraged women to believe In themselves, emphasizing the struggles women go through in trying to be a Leader. ” It will never be easy, but you must take away fear, be bold and have harmonies in other to achieve what you want. We will also need to support each other heavily” she said at the same time, Madam MacDella Cooper lauded Sister Aid Liberia for their numerous support and contribution towards women leaders. Underscoring the need to work together as women while nurturing uprising women leaders. “Let’s find like-minded women forgetting what she did or doing with her personal life to provide support, let’s not also destroy our young girls by our harmful traditional practices

“The Cllr. then recognized the challenges Women Leaders are faced with in aiming for a position in Liberia but says women should do more to extend the higher height and work together collectively in achieving 50% women political participation.

The occasion was graced by women from both political and civil society backgrounds. It was held at the Belle Cassa Hotel in Monrovia. Sister Aid Liberia (SALI) is a women led organization that fight inequality, poverty and human rights abuses against Women and girls. Their vision is to have a Liberia where women and girls enjoy equal rights, leadership, inclusion, peace, security and improve livelihood.
