Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia is preparing to welcome global investors and economic leaders to a groundbreaking investment summit this July, an event that officials say could mark a turning point in the nation’s development trajectory.
Set to take place from July 15 to 18 at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, the 2025 Liberian Investment Conference was officially unveiled during a press conference at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT).
Mr. William Anderson, CEO of NOVA Africa Venture Group, made the announcement, outlining the conference’s transformative goals.
Held in close coordination with the Office of the Vice President, the event is a centerpiece of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda an initiative aimed at expanding employment, boosting entrepreneurship, and drawing sustainable foreign investment into key sectors. “This isn’t just another gathering,” said Anderson.
“It’s a strategic investment platform aimed at channeling capital into priority sectors such as agriculture, fintech, aviation, infrastructure, and natural resources.” He also praised recent diplomatic milestones under the Boakai government, notably Liberia’s election to the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member, describing it as a “strong international endorsement of Liberia’s readiness to lead and collaborate globally.”
The upcoming conference is set to attract both local and international business leaders. Among confirmed Liberian participants are Orange Liberia, AGL, AquaLife, EPO, and Capital Hotel. International entities expected to attend include Jitex Aviation (France), In Geneco (South Africa), and the Arkansas River Rice Mill Group (USA).
“We are witnessing a shift,” Anderson noted. “This government is actively partnering with the private sector, steering the country from reliance on aid toward genuine economic self-determination.” Global institutions like the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) are supporting the summit. UNECA’s Madame Copper has been announced as the keynote speaker.
The announcement coincides with Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture and NOVA officials participating in an investment roundtable in Philadelphia, where they are pursuing new partnerships in the agriculture sector. “This is a proud moment for Liberia,” Anderson said in closing. “Together, we can open a new chapter of inclusive growth and shared prosperity” He urged Liberians
