Monrovia: UN Women, Foreign Ministry, Partners, convene Dialogue To Review and Validate Draft Gender-Responsive Foreign Policy
A high-level Dialogue on Liberia’s Draft Gender- Responsive Foreign Policy has convened in Monrovia
The Dialogue is being held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Liberia partnership with UN Women Liberia.
The dialogue gathered
Government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and key stakeholders to review and validate the draft strategy that will guide Liberia’s approach to gender-responsive diplomacy.
If passed and adopted, Liberia will become one of the first African countries to formally adopt a Gender-Responsive Foreign Policy that advances gender equality, human rights, women’s leadership, peace and security, climate justice, and inclusive development across its foreign policy engagements.
The strategy is guided by five key pillars which include

Women’s Economic Empowerment & Inclusive Trade, Women, Peace & Security, Climate Justice & Natural Resource Governance and Women’s Political Representation & Leadership
The milestone reflects Liberia’s growing commitment to feminist and inclusive diplomacy on the African continent and globally.
