HOUSE DEFERS BEA MOUNTAIN HEARINGS AFTER THE COMPANY FAILED TO SUBMIT REQUIRE DOCUMENTS FOR REVIEW

Monrovia: The House Joint Committee on concession has deferred a public hearing with Bea Mountain Mining company for failing to submit all relevant documents required for the review of the company’s concession agreement.

The Joint Committee was established to review all concession agreements across Liberia.

Holding its first public hearing recently with representatives from Bea Mountain Mining Company, it was established that the company failed to submit several essential documents required for a thorough review of its concession agreement which resulted into the committee deferring the public hearing to March 28, 2025.  Bea Mountain Mining company was required to present a comprehensive document about the company’s concession agreement during the next hearing

The Joint Committee emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the review process, particularly regarding the documentation and compliance of concessionaires with national regulations and agreements. This review aims to ensure that all concession agreements are aligned with Liberia’s long-term economic and environmental goals.

The committee remains committed to upholding the interests of the Liberian people and ensuring that all companies operating within the country abide by the terms of their agreements. Bea Mountain Mining Corporation is Liberia’s first and largest commercial gold mine, with a commitment to responsible economic growth and community development.

Bea Mountain is a Class ‘A’ mining company operating under a Mineral Development Agreement (MDA) and is the largest industrial gold mining company in Liberia.
