LNP charges 18year old Emmanuel Toe for allegedly raping and murdering a 9-year-old minor in Lower Margibi County

Margibi County: The Liberia National Police has charged and forwarded to court 18-year-old Emmanuel Toe for allegedly raping and murdering 9-year-old minor in Lower Margibi County.

The act was allegedly committed on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in New Land Community, Domah Town, Lower Margibi County. Defendant Emmanuel Toe allegedly crime is in violation of Chapter 14.1 and Chapter 14.70 (a) (i) and (b) of the Revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.

Police investigation uncovered that defendant Emmanuel Toe, allies “Black Cat,” allegedly raped the minor in both her vagina and anus and choked her to death. The victim’s lifeless body was later discovered at a nearby cassava farm in Saye Town Community in a pool of blood.  LNP investigation noted that the minor was found with her vaginal anus were ruptured.

 Police investigation further revealed that on Sunday, May 4, 2025, the victim left her mother residence in Saye Town community to fetch water from a nearby well but did not return home which prompted the Community members to launch a search for the minor.

According to police investigation, hours after the search, it was reported that community members found her empty bucket along the well where she had gone to fetch water.

The Police in its detailed investigation noted that after an hour of continuous search, the minor lifeless body was discovered in a nearby cassava farm a distance away from defendant Toe’s residence identified by a lady called Pauline Gbakpah, a resident of the community.

The investigation revealed that defendant Toe was reportedly seen at the well by an eyewitness identified as Linda N. Konah around the same time the minor went to fetch her water. According to eyewitness’ testimonials, as defendant Toe was leaving the well with his water, he allegedly intercepted the victim on the road where her empty bucket was abandoned.

It was alleged by the eyewitness that Toe forcibly took the minor into the cassava patch where he committed the crimes. Ms. Gbakpah reportedly discovered the victim body partially naked and unconscious lying in an awkward position in the cassava patch, approximately 120 feet from defendant Toe’s residence.

Post-mortem examinations conducted on the minor remains at St. Thomas Funeral Home revealed lacerations and bruises in her vagina and anus, indicating penetration by a blunt object. However, defendant Emmanuel Toe denied committing the act but his younger brother, Divine Toe, testified seeing defendant Toe’s committing the act.

According to Divine’s testimonials, he witnessed defendant Emmanuel Toe committing the act and was threatened when he tried to intervene. Police investigation amongst other things revealed that following the alleged crimes, defendant Toe reportedly fled the scene to his house, took a Bluetooth speaker from his room, intending to sell it to facilitate his escape from the community.

However, his uncle, Weed Ojuku, apprehended him in the Yellow Building Community and later turned him over to the Liberia National Police local deport in Scheffl Town, Lower Margibi County. Defendant Emmanuel Toe is currently remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison pending court trial.
