Monrovia: The House of Representatives, through its Committee on Investment and Concession, has formally summoned the Chief Executive Officer of Hummingbird Resources Liberia Inc., Mr. Brett Richards, to appear before the Committee on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the First Floor Conference Room, House Wing.

This summons follows a directive issued by the Leadership of the House on August 18, 2025, requiring Hummingbird Resources Liberia Inc. to remit the full outstanding amount of Three Million Four Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand United States Dollars (US$3,485,000) into the Government of Liberia’s Consolidated Account, in accordance with instructions from the Liberia Revenue Authority and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

The company was further instructed to present an official flag receipt to the House of Representatives, through the Office of the Chief Clerk, as proof of payment. In addition, the payment was to be completed within twenty working days commencing August 11, 2025, as stipulated during the Committee’s hearing.

The House of Representatives underscores the urgency of this matter and expects Hummingbird Resources Liberia Inc. to fully comply with its obligations to the state. The September 11 appearance will provide an opportunity for the company to present a comprehensive update on the status of its compliance.

The House reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ensuring that all concessionaires operating within the Republic of Liberia uphold their contractual, financial, and social responsibilities to the Government and people of Liberia.
